freebiejeebies users are excited about the release of a new update for Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS. The new release promises multiple bug fixes including the proximity sensor, iPhone 3G performance and the less than notorious bluetooth issue.

One of the more interesting feature is Apple’s new ‘Game Center’ their new multi-player gaming system that enables the iPhone user to send challenges to other iPhone users using push notifications. Game developers will have access to the Game Center functionality so expect to be able to use it soon and play against your friends.

Another interesting bit of news from the Apple conference was that the iPod Touch is no responsible for over 50% of the mobile gaming market, making it more popular than the Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP combined. This is great news for Apple and great news for any iPhone or iPod Touch users, promising a large community for the new Game Center.
